Tony Crowe update- exciting news!

Dear Friends,

As we continue to entrust the care of our Leaven family to Our Lady, under the titles of Our Lady of Knock, Mother Thrice Admirable (Schoenstatt), and Our Lady of Guadalupe, and also to St. Joseph, patron of workers and fathers, amazing things are happening. . .

Heartfelt thanks for a most generous donation on behalf of Women of Grace for $1000, specifically for the purchase of a 50' polytunnel!   The Leaven will purchase the polytunnel from a store in Ireland and have it delivered to the Crowe's address.  Other supplies will be purchased similarly as soon as we have the available funds. We want to deliver all the supplies at about the same time so that everything is ready to go at once.

Is there anyone out there who would purchase a Honda fg315 tiller, approximately 600 GPB, or about $900. Or half a tiller? Or a fourth? Alton, a dairy farmer in his younger days, says that it's important that the tiller blade and engine be substantial enough to go deep enough to compost well.

Donations are coming in  from Ireland, from Massachusetts, Louisiana, Minnesota, Texas,  Florida, and Nebraska so far.

Total donations are now at about $2800, thanks be to God moving generously through the Body of Christ. Several donors gave permission to send their contribution amount ($1400) for an unexpected emergency family need this week, so while our total donations are at about  $2800, we really do still need to keep going until we get all the necessary supplies to begin.

Meanwhile, Tony is working on a business plan to nail down details of exactly what size plot he should begin with, what kinds of seeds to plant, his available labor, tools needed, number of chickens and pens, etc. Also working on a detailed list of supplies, which I will publish much like a wedding shower list as soon as we have it.

If you reside in Ireland (in County Mayo) and know of anyone who is already in the business who could mentor Tony by providing either volunteer or part-time employment,  this would be so helpful. He has class during the week until around five.

Your donation is entirely tax deductible, as The Leaven is a 501c3 non-profit fund. Kindly send your check to: The Leaven, P.O. Box 81511, Lincoln, NE 68501-1511 or donate online by clicking here and going to the donate button at the bottom of the link.

This mountain is beginning to move! Thanks be to God!

May God bless you and bless you and bless you!

Gratefully yours in Christ,
Juliana and Alton Davis

I am personally convinced that one person can be a change catalyst, a 'transformer' in any situation, any organization. Such an individual is yeast that can leaven an entire loaf. It requires vision, initiative, patience, respect, persistence, courage, and faith to be a transforming leader. -  Stephen Covey
