Leaven for Humanae Vitae is a non-profit that helps those who live, defend, and/or promote the values of Humanae Vitae, and Doug Barry, host of EWTN's Life on the Rock and his wife Denise, certainly fit that description.They have been in Catholic evangelization apostolate for the past twenty-plus years, and we have learned about a desperate need that they have today!
Camp Gargano's primary mission is to build strong fathers and sons, addressing the whole man physically, psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually so that they can be the strong men our culture so desperately needs them to be. However, the camp is also available for other kinds of events as well.
We went out to Camp Gargano this morning check on the suitability of their facility as a venue for our upcoming Marian Conference on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The conference will feature Patrick Coffin of Catholic Answers, Dr. Thomas Hilgers of the Pope Paul VI Institute, and others.
We were amazed because Camp Gargano was without doubt the most suitable facility we could ever ask for, yet we didn't even know it existed, right in our own back yard, right here in Lincoln, NE!!!
What we also learned, however, is that Camp Gargano has an immediate financial expense of $15,000 TODAY, and due to an unforeseen crisis, Doug is unable to meet it!!!
Coming to the financial assistance of ministries in such situations is exactly why The Leaven exists, so here is our plea on their behalf! They are definitely an organization that supports the culture of life!
Camp Gargano needs $15,000 TODAY to cover this expense in order to continue its vital mission. Previously scheduled events will keep them going in the coming months, but things could become much more difficult if we, the Body of Christ, don't come to their assistance immediately!
