Sign Online Petition In Defense Of Life:Common Ground: Abortion Begins At Contraception

Leaven founders call all people of good will, regardless of religious affiliation, to unite in one voice as literal leaven to defend human life by proclaiming as common ground that contraception is the root of abortion and that allegiance to natural and divine law written on the human heart regarding human sexuality is the remedy that will protect not only the unborn, but ultimately the poor, the handicapped, the elderly, and the nation from anti-life ideologies.

"There is only one 'common ground' by which to defeat President Obama's anti-life agenda, and that is to insist that the gift of human sexuality is intended to be under the dominion of human intellect and will, co-operatively between male and female and subordinate to the Creator of all life. Any genital expression of human sexuality contrary even to natural law alone results in the deterioration of society: disharmony between man and woman, gender identity confusion, divorce, childhood rebellion, pornography, mutilation, contraception, and abortion," says Davis.

"In addition to President Obama's concept of common ground, there is yet another dangerous common ground originating in the pro-life community that poses significant threat in these times:namely, placing primary focus on surgical abortion while staggering numbers of tiny children are literally flushed down the toilet daily by their mothers who are often unaware they kill their own children by way of the Pill, the IUD, the birth control patch, Depo-Provera, Plan B, and any other means prohibiting a tiny baby, every milligram a human, from adhering to its mother's womb. These tiny children are, in effect, being betrayed by pro-life leaders and medical professionals who turn a near blind eye to their existence. Our only hope is to repent of this heinous, hypocritical betrayal and to commit or re-commit ourselves to the defense of life by a more literal interpretation of whatsoever we do to the least of our brothers . . ." says Juliana Davis.

The Leaven is a grassroots organization, founded in 1987 by Alton and Juliana Davis, whose mission is to honor those who honor God by following natural and divine law regarding human sexuality as contained in Humanae Vitae, a Catholic encyclical of Pope Paul VI. Its scope is ecumenical. The Davises offer their personal testimony of conversion and healing from artificial contraception and contraceptive abortion.
